The Small Things!

It's amazing how something so small can make someone feel so WONDERFUL! Today while Payton and I were out and about, we experienced what the true meaning of the holiday spirit really is...we were standing in line at the check out, and in the next isle over from us there was an elderly man alone paying for some items he had purchased, it wasn't much, just a gallon jug of water and what looked like a greeting card...but, he was short $1.20. My heart dropped to see this man looking for money he knew he didn't have and he almost seemed confused of the whole situation, and I felt horrible! I mouthed to the cashier checking the man out, "does he need money?" cashier shook his head yes, as the man was still looking for change...I reached into my purse and pulled out $2.00 and gave it to my cashier lady to hand to the man...behind her...both cashiers said thank you! They even went onto say, it was the nicest thing they had seen in awhile. Sad thing was is that the man really didn't realize what had just happened...but, it didn't matter to me, I was just glad that I could help him out! I think this time of year especially people really need to consider others...I see and hear so many hurtful things when I'm out, people can be so rude, this time of year it seems to get worse! I know everyone is going through hard times right now and there is so much stress...but, it is times like these your really need to take a step back and look at what is important...do onto others as you would want done to you! Be grateful for everything that you do have, realize the small things make a HUGE difference and mean so very much!
